  • What are entry points for engaging today’s generation of Digital Natives with Chinese ceramics, Buddhist art, and Japanese prints?
  • Everyone can thrill at the sight of a T. rex — but what about an oreodont? a subhyracodon? a succession of extinct turtles and trays full of microfossils?
I bring my experience with a wide array of disciplines and organizations to creating solutions to such challenges as these — developing content and interpretive plans for meaningful, engaging, and exciting exhibits, websites, and publications. My collaborations with planning teams and experts result in comprehensive strategic plans and thematic frameworks for experiences that engage audiences of all ages. Many of the exhibits and websites I’ve developed integrate universal access for people with physical challenges and a spectrum of learning styles. As part of an exhibit on the life, work, and influences of Edgar Allan Poe, Krister Olmon, Inc. was charged with conveying the writer’s exuberant creativity. How could visitors interact with this genius―and be enticed to explore Poe’s work in greater depth?




Chinese Ceramics Pacific Asia

Chinese porcelains are a tough sell to fifth graders, and yet there are aspects of these lovely creations that are fascinating to kids. Working with the Pacific Asia Museum’s curatorial and registrarial staff, I developed a set of simple narratives and lesson plans that bring these technically sophisticated artworks to life.
